What Ingredients Are in Sugar Reset? A Line-by-Line Read of the Label

Quick answer

What ingredients are in sugar reset? The label lists 23: chromium (as chromium picolinate) at 0.7 mcg, then a 200 mg proprietary blend of 22 botanicals and amino acids with no per-item amounts. The drops also hold glycerin, water, xylitol, stevia and preservatives. Berberine and cinnamon are not on the label.

What ingredients are in Sugar Reset? Gymnema leaf and powder, one of the named blend ingredients
Gymnema leaf extract is item 8 in the printed blend order.

When shoppers ask what ingredients are in sugar reset, they often get a short list from a sales page. That list names six items. The bottle itself names far more. This guide reads the label line by line, in the order it is printed.

We use only the printed label and the facts on the seller's package page. Where the label is silent, we write not published.

Step 1: What ingredients are in Sugar Reset at the top of the panel?

The Supplement Facts panel starts with the serving. One serving is 1 ml. A 2 fl oz (60 ml) bottle holds 60 servings. Then comes the first ingredient with its own amount: chromium, as chromium picolinate, at 0.7 mcg. That is 2% of the Daily Value.

Below it sits the proprietary blend. Its total is 200 mg per serving. A dagger mark says the Daily Value is not established.

Step 2: What ingredients are in Sugar Reset's 22-item blend?

Here they are, in the order printed. The label gives no amount for any of them. The label does not say whether the order reflects weight, so treat it as the print order and nothing more.

The 22 blend items, in printed order
No.Item as printed (spelling as on label)
1Maca (Lepidium mevenii) root extract
2Grape (Vitis vinifera) seed extract
3Guarana (Paullinia cupana) seed extract
4African mango (Irvingia gabonesis) seed extract
5Eleutherococcus senticosus root extract
6Astragalus root extract
7Green tea (Camellia sinensis) leaf extract
8Gymnema leaf extract
9Coleus forskohlii root extract
10Capsicum annuum fruit extract
11Grapefruit (Citrus paradisi) fruit extract
12Panax ginseng aerial extract
13Raspberry ketones
14L-glutamine
15L-tyrosine
16L-arginine base
17Beta-alanine
18Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate
19GABA (gamma amino butyric acid)
20L-ornithine HCl
21L-tryptophan
22L-carnitine base

Step 3: What are the other ingredients?

These are the carrier and flavour items: glycerin, water, organic lemon extract, stevia extract 97% (Reb A), xylitol, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, citric acid and natural flavors. Their amounts are not published either.

The label has no allergen statement that we saw. If you have an allergy, ask the seller before you buy, and ask your doctor.

Step 4: Which ingredients do sellers highlight?

The seller page names six: chromium picolinate, gymnema leaf, African mango seed, green tea leaf, maca root and Panax ginseng aerial extract. The other items, such as guarana, grape seed and the amino acids, get little mention. This is why the label is the better guide to what ends up in the dropper.

Seven of the 22 are amino acids, and one is GABA. One is a licorice compound, monoammonium glycyrrhizinate. Raspberry ketones, coleus and capsicum fill out the rest of the botanicals.

What should you not expect to find in Sugar Reset?

Berberine, cinnamon and banaba are not on the label. Some web pages list them for this product. Those pages describe another formula. Our other guides on berberine are about a different kind of supplement; see our evidence grade of blood sugar supplements for how that research looks.

Step 5: Which lines deserve a doctor's eye?

  • Guarana and green tea add caffeine. The caffeine amount is not published.
  • Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate is a licorice compound. Licorice can matter for blood pressure and potassium.
  • Grapefruit extract can change how some medicines work.
  • Chromium, gymnema and ginseng may stack with glucose-lowering drugs.

The label itself asks pregnant or nursing mothers, anyone under 18, and anyone with a known medical condition to consult a physician first. Our method page explains how we read labels.

How is the blend grouped?

Sorting the 22 items by kind makes the list easier to take in. This is our grouping, not the label's.

The 22 blend items by kind
KindHow manyItems
Plant extracts12Maca, grape seed, guarana, African mango, eleuthero, astragalus, green tea, gymnema, coleus, capsicum, grapefruit, Panax ginseng
Amino acids7L-glutamine, L-tyrosine, L-arginine, beta-alanine, L-ornithine, L-tryptophan, L-carnitine
Neurotransmitter-type compound1GABA
Licorice compound1Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate
Fruit compound1Raspberry ketones

That adds up to 22. Add chromium and you have the 23 lines on the panel.

How do you read a proprietary blend?

A proprietary blend gives one total weight for a group of items. Here that total is 200 mg for 1 ml. It does not give each item's share. So you know the size of the group but not what is in it.

That is why you cannot compare this bottle with a study that used a set dose of one herb. If this matters to you, ask the seller in writing whether per-item amounts exist. As of today they are not published.

Which label lines are easy to miss?

  • The spellings are printed as they are on the bottle: Lepidium mevenii, Irvingia gabonesis. We copy them as printed.
  • Stevia extract carries a printed purity of 97% (Reb A). It is the only percentage among the other ingredients.
  • "Natural flavors" is a catch-all. The label does not say which.
  • Organic lemon extract and stevia extract run together on the label with no comma between them.
  • Sodium benzoate and potassium sorbate are preservatives.

None of these is a problem in itself. They are the kind of small print a careful reader likes to see written down.

Key facts

  • Not on the label: berberine, cinnamon, banaba.
  • Not FDA approved; the FDA has not evaluated the label statements.

Our view

Our view is that the label is more open than the sales page, and less open than a careful buyer would like. All 23 lines are named. Almost none have amounts. That gap is the main thing to weigh. If you take medicine, have a condition, or are pregnant or nursing, show the full label to your doctor before you order.
